I took over the office of Okinawa Prefectural Government and, at the same time, the President position of Naha Port Authority, with the endorsement of Okinawa Prefecture and Naha and Urasoe Cities, on December 10, 2006.

　Naha Port is very important infrastructure to achieve the sustainable economic development of Okinawa Prefecture which comprises many islands. Naha port continues to support development of economy and promotion of tourism as a center of logistics and cultural exchange by taking advantage of its location, close to the emerging countries such as China and East Asian Countries.

　Okinawa is also famous for its rich subtropical climate and marine attributes, like coral reef, as well as for its diverse animal life. Our mission includes maintaining our rich environment and handing over to the next generation.

　As our immediate projects, we will make our best effort to build an attractive Naha Port through:
a) providing an international cruise ship terminal,
　 in accordance with the “Development Plan of Okinawa Prefecture” ;
b) developing a logistic center; and
c) preparing safe and enjoyable water front area for citizens as well as tourists.
